Athletics: More Harlow Running Club profiles

DURING these difficult times, Harlow Running Club have ventured to find out a little bit more their members.
Sarah Walker
How long have you been a member?
A couple of years… Karen invited me along to a session and I really enjoyed it.
When did you first get in to running?
Did my first half marathon in 2013 and had done Race for Life lots of times but in the last few years I’ve started doing lots more races and events including starting to do Parkrun.
What is your proudest sporting achievement?
I used to play football for Tottenham and last year my cricket team won the National T20 Cup so were the best team in the country!
What has been your biggest achievement during Covid?
Getting out and doing more running.
Recently ran my first sub 2hr30 half which is something I’d been aiming for.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
I love to travel and I have a season ticket at Tottenham. I also teach in the same school as two other members… Karen Kitson and Alison Walker

How long have you been a member?”
I joined in March 2019, seems like longer as I have made some amazing friends.
When did you first get into running/triathlon?”
In 2017 I had issues with my knee and had put on a lot of weight, after seeing a photo of me on a family holiday I decided to start running to lose some weight. I started my running journey at Harlow parkrun and soon became addicted.
“What is your proudest sporting achievement?”
Completing my first ultra race Stort 30 miles 2019
What has been your biggest achievement during Covid?
I have trained so much more during lockdown and have reached 1000 miles this year for the first time.
Tell us a fun fact about yourself?
A fun fact is i don’t really have one!! I do all my running without having any cartilage in my left knee.
