Thousands line streets as Santa comes to town

THOUSANDS lined the streets of Harlow and Bishops Stortford over the weekend to see Santa on his sleigh drive through the town.
This was organised by Barringtons Funeral Directors.
On Saturday, the sleigh drove through Old Harlow, The Stow, Bush Fair, Potter Street and back to Old Harlow.
Our camera caught Santa and his elves as they travelled down Tumbler Road.
The event was organised in order to raise funds for St Clare Hospice.
Barringtons Director, Nikki Field said: “We were delighted that people came out to see us.
“The people of Harlow were so lovely. They stayed out even when it started to rain.
“We do hope to do it next year but with a few refinements.”
We hope to details of their final total soon.
I was just dying to see Santa ? Funeral home after more business by lining the streets with thousands of people during a global pandemic
Does nobody see the irony in this? A local funeral director organises an activity in a tier 4 town that may well result in more deaths. Words fail me.
Sorry to sound like a party pooper but given the reported rise in Covid-19 cases within Harlow, how does an event like this get the go ahead please? It wasn't that long ago that there was a 'princess parade' in Church Langley where again, the streets were lined with people accompanied by an absence of social distancing. Common sense prevails ... not.
