Male charged with sex assault on female police officer in town centre

HARLOW police officers have been busy over the Christmas period.

Over on their Facebook page, they have told residents of two arrests in the town centre.


OUR Town Centre Team have been busy over the past few days.

On Tuesday December 22nd, after a call from a member of the public, Harlow Town Centre team attended Terminus Street Bus Station and arrested a male for common assault.

During the course of the arrest and conveyance to custody the male continued to commit offences against officers. Ultimately being charged with the original Common Assault, assault on an emergency worker – for kicking out at officers, two counts of criminal damage for spitting in the rear of the police vehicle and custody cell and then sexual assault on a female after touching the backside of the arresting officer.

Male has been charged, entered a guilty plea at court and remanded in prison before sentencing later in January.


On Dec 23rd, officers on foot patrol within the Harvey Centre located a male acting suspiciously in the car park.

After a stop search a quantity of cocaine was found in his pocket.

After being arrested for possession of Class A the male has stated that the drugs he was found with was a Christmas present to himself. The male has now been charged and bailed to court.
