Driver charged after pedestrian crossing destroyed on First Avenue

Update: Statement from Essex Police

We were called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles in First Avenue, Harlow at around 2.10pm on Wednesday 13 January.

No-one one was seriously injured but one person was reported for careless driving.

1530 hrs

POLICE are in attendance on First Avenue after it appears that a car has destroyed the central reservation.

As you can see from the photograph above, a car seems to have come to rest in the middle of the pedestrian crossing.

There is evidence of damage to the railings next to St Alban’s Primary Academy.

There is debris on the road.

The road was open but drivers are advised to pass with care.
