Essex Police given stop and search powers after stabbing in The Hides

ESSEX Police has been granted stop and search powers after a male was stabbed in The Hides area of Harlow.

A spokesperson said: “As part of our investigation into a stabbing which took place in The Hides area of #Harlow shortly before 2.30pm today, Sunday 6 June, we have authorised a Section 60 order.It gives officers the power to stop and search anyone in a specific area if they suspect serious violence could be committed.

The order, which is in place until 6am tomorrow morning, covers the area outlined in the map.

We believe a 20-year-old man was attacked by a group of six to eight males aged in their late teens or early 20s who were all wearing dark-coloured clothing.

No arrests have been made and our enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information on it should call us on 101 and cite incident 778 of today, Sunday 5 June.
