HARLOW Labour’s shadow portfolio holder for Regeneration Cllr Tony Durcan who was formerly the cabinet member for Regeneration has responded positively and pragmatically to the news about investment in Harlow Town Centre and took time to thank Council staff for their efforts in securing the funding.
Cllr Durcan said:
‘The town centre investment fund has achieved success by the collaboration of a number of key stakeholders over the last few years.
“I want to pay tribute to the council senior executive team who have been at the vanguard to bring about this unique opportunity to bring real sustainable growth in job business and housing to the town centre.
We have all played a part and this should only be viewed as a collective not an individual achievement.
Harlow works better together to make the difference we deserve.
“The decision to commit was made at the last cabinet under the Labour administration and I was proud to recommend this pathway to the council and the town.’
The leader of the Labour Group, Cllr Chris Vince added
‘I would like to take this opportunity, as sadly the Conservatives have not, to thank the hard-working Council officers who have worked so hard to secure funding for our town centre. I echo the comments made by Cllr Durcan that this was very much a team effort.’
Well done officers for securing this important funding. Let's hope it's spent wisely and benefits the whole town. 👍
