Driver fined for crashing into church in Matching Green

A MAN has been fined for careless driving and failing to report an accident.

George Harding, aged 26, of Sheering Lower Road, Sawbridgeworth pleased guilty at Chelmsford magistrates court to the following.

On October 25th, 2020 at Harlow being the driver of a Ford Focus owing to the presence of which on a road, Matching Tye Road an accident occurred whereby damage was caused to property forming part of the land on which the road was situated or land adjacent to it, the fencing and front garden off Matthews Chapel and The Manse, failed to stop.

On October 25th, 2020 at Harlow being the driver of a Ford Focus owing to the presence of which on a road, Matching Tye Road an accident occurred whereby damage was caused to property forming part of the land on which the road was situated or land adjacent to it, the fencing and front garden off Matthews Chapel and The Manse, and not having given your name and address to a person having reasonable grounds for requiring you to do so, failed to report the accident at a police station or to a constable as soon as was reasonably practicable, and in any case within twenty-four hours of the occurrence of the accident

On October 25th, 2020 at Harlow drove a Ford Focus on a road, Matching Tye Road, Harlow without due care and attention in that the defendant lost control on a bend and left the road colliding with the front fence of a property.

Harding was fined £633.00 and had five points put on his licence.

He was probably drink or drug driving, which is why he legged it. He got off lightly...
