I would like to no why all this sewage is coming from and going down the river it looks like it's coming from the factories but not sure could we have the environment agency look into this other wise your have the fisherman all complaining about the situation on the rivers.

Herbert Thompson, Surface water ordinarily passes through the sewerage system to Rye Hse...I believe although I'm happy to be corrected.. When the flow is too higher the system to cope, the water passes through the storm drains directly into the River... The flaw in Gibberds plan was having roads and large areas of concrete/tarmac close to the River. Had the area been left as a country park/ recreation area then the problem would have been much less as the water would naturally drain through the soil. As it is, every factory, car wash and residential building deposits its waste directly into the Stort which is why we see a detergent foam at the exit of The old Latton Mill after heavy rainfall
