Over the border: Celebrate Love Parks Week with a trip to Pishiobury Park

Entertainment / Mon 26th Jul 2021 at 09:56am

CELEBRATE Love Parks Week this summer with a trip to one of our East Herts parks and open spaces.

East Herts Council has teamed up with some of their Personal Trainers and Dog Trainers to offer you a discount on sessions in the park.

There are a number of ways you can get active in East Herts this Love Parks Week and during the rest of the summer, from orienteering to health walks and things to spot while picnicking in the park. Details of these can all be found on our website: www.eastherts.gov.uk/loveparksweek

The parks and open spaces across our district are one of the highlights of our towns – with the variety they offer from activities, nature and biodiversity.

As part of Love Parks Week, East Herts Council will also be launching a consultation on a new Parks and Open Spaces Strategy. This is your chance to be involved from the outset and provide us your feedback before we begin to put our plans into action next year. We set out our key objectives over the next five years to ensure our green spaces continue to thrive. Our focus will be on keeping them Attractive & Accessible, Commercially viable and Engaged with our users (ACE).

We would encourage everyone to take part in the consultation and help shape the future of our parks and open spaces. Your thoughts about what parks mean to you will guide us to ensure that our plans fully reflect your needs.

More information about the strategy and the consultation can be found on our website: https://www.eastherts.gov.uk/posconsult21

Eric Buckmaster, executive member for wellbeing, East Herts Council, said: “Never have our parks been more appreciated than over the last 18 months, they’ve offered space to exercise, relax and to meet up with friends and family safely. There’s something for everyone in our lovely parks and they provide great days out for the whole family. So I would encourage everyone to pack a picnic this summer and head to one of the parks to enjoy our picturesque landscapes.”

While you’re out and about in our parks you may notice our selfie frames, why not take a photo and tag us on social media?
