Athletics: Impressive Harlow performances up and down the country

HARLOW Running Club were represented at the Manchester Marathon, the UK’s 2nd largest marathon, by three members. Martin Westley finished in 822nd place out of 13,454 finishers in an excellent 3hrs 06min 45sec. He was followed home by Lee Webber in 2224th place in a PB time of 3.29.30 and Helen Barnes-Martin was 12,526th in 5.37.59, a PB by 13min.    

Meanwhile, at the Royal Parks Half Marathon Keith Streeter finished in 1035th place out of 10,087 finishers in a superb PB time of 1.32.16, Mark Bentley was 1226th in 1.34.48, Sandi Rust 1735th in 1.41.41, Bethany Drake 5290th in 1.53.28 in her debut at the distance, Alison Wilkinson 6948th in 2.12.02, Liz Coxall 9957th in 3.24.47(debut) and Amanda Stead 9959th in 3.24.48(debut).  

At the Colchester Zoo Stampede Half Marathon Robert Foxley finished in 57th place out of 624 finishers in a PB time of 1.38.38 and Sean Flynn was 194th in 1.53.49. 

The Silverstone 10k takes place on the world famous motor racing circuit where Dawn Elford finished in 1518th place out of 1746 finishers in 1.14.50

A total of 39 runners completed various parkruns on Saturday morning including 27 at Harlow.
There were PB runs from Adam Galloway, Hossein Erfani and Luella Dixon at Harlow and from Bobby Draper at the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey.
