Gymnastics: Harlow medal at county voluntary levels championship

THIS season’s competition schedule continued for Harlow Gymnastics Club at the County Voluntary Levels Championships at Colchester School of Gymnastics, with medal joy for Birchwood student Honey Gillick and Harlowbury pupil Renee Firth Moon.

In the Copper 12+ competition, an amazing beam performance earned Honey Gillick the bronze medal and she went on to finish in 17th place overall, in a three-way tie with teammates Summer Dolan and Skye Girolami who also placed 7th on vault. In the same competition, Kara McMahon, Shannah Stacey, Emily Forey and Mia Brine placed 18th, 21st, 24th and 25th overall respectively.

Competing in the zinc age 9-10 event, Laura Wator and Olivia Palmer placed 23rd and 24th overall respectively.

The following weekend, the events continued with the age 10-11 Copper level where Renee Firth Moon showed her fantastic tumbling and character on floor and earned a well-deserved bronze medal. She also finished 8th on bars and placed 12th overall. Milana Lawrence finished 7th on vault and 15th overall narrowly behind teammate Genna Lee who finished in 14th place overall.

Competing in the zinc 11+ event Lola Manual placed 4th on beam and 7th on floor, finishing in a respectable 9th overall. Grace Hoskins placed 6th on vault and finished in 12th overall with Nina Robinson finishing in 16th place overall.

All the gymnasts worked exceptionally well in an extremely competitive event and the club are incredibly proud of them.
