Athletics: Courageous Kerry conquers Orion 15

HARLOW Running Club member Kerry Mavris completed the Orion 15 at the weekend. This is a tough 15 mile cross country race through Epping Forest with many hills and in places ankle deep mud. Kerry finished in 144th place out of 175 finishers in a commendable 2hrs 38min 17sec.

Meanwhile, at the Stevenage Half Marathon Dave Goosetree finished in 292nd place out of 337 finishers in 2.14.44, Paul Watts was 293rd in 2.14.45 and Susan Maloney 294th in 2.14.51.

At the Chelmsford 10k, which was also the Essex County 10k Championships, Martin Westley finished in 85th place out of 361 finishers in 40.12 and Colin Moody was 207th in 51.10 to win the Essex Silver Medal in the Vet 70 category.

Terri Wiley completed the Run Through Olympic Park 5k in 7th place out of 86 finishers and 2nd Female in a PB time of 20.52.

There were PB runs at Harlow parkrun from Amber Ingle 22.42 and Thomas Beales 23.11 and from Jon Waight 19.19 at the Gunpowder parkrun at Waltham Abbey.
