M11 improvements: Details of road closures in Gilden Way
News / Fri 14th Jan 2022 am31 09:29am
ESSEX Highways are writing to inform you about an upcoming weekend closure of the B183 Gilden Way as part of the new M11 Junction 7A scheme and Gilden Way widening.
Following good progress to date, we will shortly be reaching an important milestone with the surfacing and tie-in of the new road along Gilden Way, between the Churchgate Street roundabout and Lower Sheering Road. Due to the nature of this work, it can only be carried out under carriageway closures at the weekend and overnight when there is less traffic on the road network.
A full weekend closure will therefore start from 8pm on Friday 21 January and will be completed by 5am on Monday 24 January. This is to carry out carriageway surfacing and tie-in works.
During this closure there will be limited vehicular access for residents as the carriageway will be fully closed.
The exit from Aspen Way will be closed and residents are asked to exit Gilden Park via Old Oak way.
A complimentary shuttle bus service (route 59) will be available from Lower Sheering Road to Hatfield Heath from Saturday morning to Sunday evening.
We thank you for your continued patience as we deliver what is a critical infrastructure project for Harlow and the wider area.
Diversion routes will be clearly signposted.
