Athletics: Harlow runners run well at Welwyn Half

HARLOW Running and Tri Club member Robert Foxleyn (pictured) completed the popular Brighton Half Marathon, finishing in 1129th place out of 6362 finishers in a superb 1hr 40min 27sec.
Meanwhile, at the Welwyn Half Marathon, Chris Arnell finished in 229th place out of 388 finishers in 1.59.33, in his debut at the distance. Also in their Half Marathon debut were Kate Porter in 230th place in 1.59.33 and Colin Langbridge 304th in 2.12.16. Susan Maloney was 331st in 2.19.07, blind runner Paul Watts 356th in 2.26.20, his guide Dave Goosetree 357th also in 2.26.20 and Paulene Galoppi 376th and 2nd Female Vet 65 in 2.38.51.
At the multi-terrain and hilly Baldock Beast Half Marathon Jason Best finished in 51st place out of 154 finishers in 1.48.02, in his debut at the distance.
Laura Prime completed the inaugural multi-terrain OMG Heavy Event at Brandon Country Park in Suffolk. Laura managed 6 x 5.3k laps for a total distance of 19.65 miles in a time of 3.15.16.
At the Run Through Lee Valley Velo Park 10 Mile race Mathew Spires finished in 11th place out of 46 finishers in a PB time of 1.10.34.
Four Tri members completed the Ashridge Sprint Duathlon (Run 5km, Bike 26km, Run 2.5km) at Berkhamsted. Pas Blackwell finished in 8th place out of 155 finishers and 3rd Vet 40 in an excellent 1.16.24, Terri Wiley was 56th and 2nd Female Vet 30 in 1.33.23, Vicky Steadman 86th in 1.39.47 and Michelle Sheridan 153rd in 2.18.54.
