Bush Fair by-election: Labour’s Kay channels her inner Robert The Bruce
Elections / Mon 20th Jun 2022 at 08:24am
POLITICS can be a cruel game. When Labour’s Kay Morrison lost the Bush Fair ward by four votes in May, she could have been excused for calling it a day.
Despite, being a vastly experienced politician in Scotland, that was her third defeat in a row.
But all those years in the kingdom of Fife must have acquainted her with the legend of Robert the Bruce.
And so here we are and due to the well-documented resignation of the winning Conservative candidate, we are just a few days off a by-election.
We met up with Kay in Nicholls Field as her team continued to campaign to regain the ward.
The candidates are as follows:
Emma Ghaffari Conservative Party
Kay Morrison Labour and Co-Operative Party
Jennifer Steadman The Green Party
Nicholas Taylor Harlow Alliance PartyT
Sadly, I just don't know what Labour is about in Harlow. I even joined the party in an effort to learn more but it became apparent that the monthly members meetings were not where policies were discussed. There isn't even a parliamentary candidate in place, I believe this is down to central office policy but after the failures at recent elections I really think they need a moderate candidate in place NOW (and one who will not disappear after one defeat) just as Robert Halfon became highly visible. This isn't my ward but if it was I would support Harlow Alliance Party to provide an alternative voice lovally
She most definitely will not be getting minec or my wives vote. As I said after the local elections. In May. I dont trust the Labour party with a postal note nevermind a pound note.
Ya don't say, Danny!
