THE M11 northbound carriageway from Harlow to Bishop’s Stortford will be closed overnight on Monday (June 20), Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
National Highways announced on Monday afternoon that the section of the motorway will close from 10pm to 6am on all three days for “drainage on behalf of Chevron”.
The closures precede the resumption of essential work to resurface and repair the north bridge over the M11 at junction 8, Bishop’s Stortford from 9pm on Friday (June 24) to 5am on Monday (June 26).
The closure of the bridge will mean northbound traffic wishing to travel east after exiting the junction will be diverted up to junction 9a and back to exit via the southbound slip road at junction 8. There will also be diversions for local traffic.
The work was postponed last weekend due to the weather. The whole project will take place over six weekends with work on the south bridge due from July 1, although the delay over the north bridge work could mean it being put back.
