Harlow bowlers have had a long successful history in playing the sport of tenpin bowling starting with Dave Pond who became world champion in the 1960's followed by many other bowlers who represented their country and county. League bowling has been a significant part in this success over the years and three leagues will continue to bowl at Harlow, the new season starts next month. A league for the over 50's on a Tuesday afternoon starts on 5 September roll-off at 2.00pm, new bowlers are always welcome join.
I should have added that bowlers of all standards are welcome to join, there are effectively two leagues on a Tuesday, Division one is for more accomplished bowlers and the second for those who tend to bowl lower scores. Need to be in the bowl by 1.45 for roll-off at 2.00pm.
I had no idea Tenpin took over First Bowl/Harlow Bowl - the refurb looks very nice.
In answer to A, they bought the bowl about two months ago. They have invested a huge sum of money on the site, work is not yet completed, the "official" opening is due to take place on 8 September. They own between 40 and 50 bowls across the country.
Great, thanks for the extra detail, Nicholas. The bowling club sounds very interesting as well - I didn't know Harlow had such an established team.
How would i go about enrolling my folks into the league 2 for tenpin bowling harlow pls ?
