MP for Harlow, Robert Halfon has written to King Charles III to convey his sympathy after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Mr Halfon wrote:
“I am writing upon the sad news of the passing of your Mother, Her late Majesty The Queen, to convey to Your Majesty the heartfelt condolences of your most loyal subjects in Harlow. It is with a profound sense of gratitude that I pay tribute to Her late Majesty The Queen for her unwavering commitment to public service in the United Kingdom, the Commonwealth and across the world.

“Queen Elizabeth II led a remarkable reign and represented the very best of British values – hope, wisdom, faith and service. She oversaw great times of joy and, equally, times of upheaval with dignity and faithfulness. Regardless of the changing world around us, Her late Majesty was a beacon of continued stability and strength to her people in the UK and throughout the Commonwealth.

“I wish to offer the thoughts and prayers of the people of Harlow to Your Majesty and your family at this time of loss, and to offer the devotion of your most loyal subjects as you begin your service as our sovereign.

“I was honoured to speak in the House of Commons on Saturday 10th September to pay tribute to Her late Majesty and to remember her visit to Harlow in 1957. In my speech, I recalled that Harlow is a new town and her visit symbolised that, although she came from the old world, the Queen was bringing in the new world. Your Majesty will of course be made most welcome if you are able to visit Harlow again in the future.

“Finally, it was the privilege of my life to be appointed by Her late Majesty to the Privy Council and, on this sad but significant occasion, I wish to pledge my unwavering allegiance to you as Her late Majesty’s heir and our true sovereign.

“It is my honour to be Your Majesty’s humble and obedient servant.
