Harlow Labour leader impressed by Sir Keir Starmer’s speech

News / Thu 29th Sep 2022 at 07:30am

THE LEADER of Harlow Labour has welcomed the keynote speech by the leader of the Labour Party, Sir Keir Starmer.

Councillor Chris Vince said: “Listening to the speech by Keir Starmer at Labour Party conference I felt hopeful, for the first time in a long time, for the future of this country and for people living in it. I truly felt as though I was listening to the words of the next Prime Minister.  Yes of course I would say that, but that doesn’t mean that it isn’t true.

“What many of the doubters have been saying is that although Keir performs well in PMQs (not overly difficult considering the competition) that he lacks charisma and lacks the policies required to become the next Prime Minister.  For me he proved yesterday that he has both!

The most exciting part of the speech was of course the announcement that under his leadership the government would form GB energy, a publicly owned renewable generation company, harnessing the power of the sun, wind and waves to cut energy bills and also help to fight climate change.

The only regrettable thing about Keir’s speech is that we may well have to wait until 2024 to give the Conservative’s the boot and put him in to number 10!

Angela Rayner's speech was pretty exceptional! https://news.sky.com/video/that-is-a-disgrace-labours-deputy-leader-channels-liz-truss-during-speech-to-conference-12706880, worth a watch.

of course he would say that he wants to be parliamentary candidate. He would like any other politician sell his soul for a shot at election. We really need to move away from these idiot politicians and professional political parties they have broken everything over the last 80 years yet demand they be the ones to fix it. They are all sociopaths who expect to control our lives.

I say to Labour, stop stealing the green party's phrases. His going to do this and that, with out saying how's he gonna do it. Have people forgotten that Labour did nothing for Harlow when in . Vote green, we have to get back to local people voices being heard. The people are not being listened to.

Don't get too excited. Sir Keir Starmer, Rachel Reeves and Jess Phillips used the 'get out of jail' phrase "we have to be realistic". What "realistic" means is being slightly less indifferent than the Tories, but saying "sorry" regularly for screwing us over.
