They seem to be having a nice time. Not sure about some of the 40 year old chants though. I was half expecting some new ones, but then again everyone seems to be going back to the early eighties these days

Did anyone notice how empty the town centre was? It was so empty I thought it was a Monday morning. This was Saturday lunchtime. The town is in decline again and the post office workers just highlight how workers are treated today. Did "I support the workers" Halfon turn up? I suspect not!

I was there with them all today, and it was a good turn out. It doesn't matter how you chant , we all want the same things, don't we, the whole country feels the same.

Fantastic demo is support of workers fighting back today. The workers United will never be defeated!

It is important that workers show some resistance to the Tories because the Labour Party is so poor at being a credible Opposition.

The ridiculously-named "In Truss we trust" above commits that unmistakable badge of stupidity, muddling up "of" and "have". "Could of held that.." etc. An unsurprising ignorance, given the asinine declared support of the stupid puppet of the far-right currently trashing the country in the guise of a PM.

Good on them. Companies can't expect no backlash when they treat employees poorly.

Don't worry, why should we? Liz has explained she's pushing on and quite prepared for us, the workers, small businesses, and pensioners to suffer for the long term benefit of bankers and the wealthiest oppressed money laundering crooks, so that the Chancellor of the Exchequer can sip Champagne with the hedge fund managers who pre shorted the pound and made "loads a money" out of the budget. So that's fine then? How is it possible for a pm who has been an integral part of government for at least 10 years bunder the country into an economic crisis, (total incompetence) something is clearly wrong with the way things don't work. I'm no particular fan of royalty, (but seems better than the USA system) but Liz warning King Charles off COP is ridiculous, she'll be pushing David Attenborough off a cliff next just in case he comes out against her fossil fuel friends! At least the country knew Boris was not good on detail, a Mr Bumble but even he wanted to level up, Liz just wants to blame the lazy workers for parlous state of the country. Unbelievable. As a person on a relatively low pension I'd pay more tax to enable us to live in a society where food banks were unnecessary, the nhs fully functional with zero waiting lists and an education system where schools are centres of education rather than exam factories. Not much to ask.

cost of living crisis? clearly not so bad that all the council tenants have the latest gear, bikes clothes cars and whatever else. ill believe it when i see it. more media crap as usual. if things got so bad maybe people would choose to walk in stead of driving thier cars 5 mins down the road. no need for action yet that will line truss buddys with money at tax payer expense. i say suck it up, this is the cost of covid....and the war and climate change of course....not any bad decisions by government.

The CWU guy just about summed up the feeling of workers in this country right now even if they do not belong to a union. Our rights to have fair working conditions should not be further eroded otherwise you just end up with a working population that is disgruntled with their employer .So not too surprised by the current wave of strikes.
