Harlow Hospital Radio welcome Robert Halfon as guest

Entertainment / Tue 29th Nov 2022 at 05:09pm

HARLOW’S MP Robert Halfon was a recent guest in the studios of Harlow Hospital Radio for a wide ranging conversation which covered many subjects, not only politics.

Listeners to the live programme found out more about Robert’s wide ranging musical tastes, including memories of his time studying at the University of Exeter, which were rekindled when we played Dexy’s Midnight Runners’ hit ‘Come on Eileen’.

Robert’s interest in being involved with the Parliamentary process began when he was ten years old, but it was an ambition he followed through many years until he was selected to stand for the constituency of Harlow.

When asked which famous people he would like to invite to dinner, Robert revealed a deep fascination for the writing of J.R.R. Tolkien, author of ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘The Hobbit’, as well as the music of Bob Dylan,  who would be his main guests.

Harlow Hospital Radio, which celebrated 52 years of broadcasting to patients and staff at Princess Alexandra Hospital in 2022 is now scheduling more live programmes after two years of reduced output during the pandemic. New members are always welcome, no broadcasting experience is necessary. Find out more and contact the station via the web site www.harlowhospitalradio.com
