LOCAL food delivery company GoGetters has donated over £1,000 to charities as a result of Black Friday.
In contrast to the usual tradition of offering discounts on Black Friday, GoGetters committed to donating a substantial sum of their profits on Friday to various local charities such as food banks and homeless shelters through their “Give Back Friday”.
“Whilst Black Friday is focussed on the deals and discounts across retailers worldwide, we want to shine a light on something a bit more important, our local communities.” Says Lee Nicolaou, founder of GoGetters. “The hearts of our towns, the high streets, the independent stores, but most importantly, the people. Our family, friends & neighbours we care for.”
The total donation amount of £1,150 will be shared across three local charities, Feed Up Warm Up – Hitchin, Open Door – St Albans and the Bishops Stortford Food Bank.
GoGetters are focussed on local restaurants and stores, local drivers and local support by putting the spotlight on independent heroes. The Essex-based platform was founded in 2016 by Barrow and Lee Nicolaou. It delivers to 80,000 customers from 200 independent restaurants across Essex, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire.
not surprised the amount they charge
RJ. What they have done is to be commended. Owen is a relation and co-founder of this company. However, that aside, GoGetters is a lifeline for many, and regardless of what you think about their charges, it is worth every penny to those who use their services. Giving back to the local community is something all businesses should be doing, especially given the current climate. You have a choice if you want to use a company or not, but please do not knock a company who are just doing good. You never know, you may need them one day, or the help of the Foodbank. Owen and Lee WELL DONE.
Nice to see some people putting something back into the community.
