Harlow director pushing the boundaries of community theatre

Entertainment / Wed 30th Nov 2022 at 11:04am

MARTIN Colton (38) from Harlow has been part of community theatre around the Old Town for the past 20 years.  During this time, he has been the Chairman of Victoria Hall Theatre in Old Harlow for the last 10 years.

What he is trying to do at The Victoria Hall Theatre, is to raise expectations of what can be achieved by community theatre and to get people involved in local productions.  They are building a new team of creative people for future productions at The Victoria Hall Theatre.  By putting on this production, they have built a community of dynamic people who are interested in the Arts locally.

Martin has been volunteering, simply for the love of the Arts, with the hope of inspiring others to find a passion for theatre.

In addition, both of his teenage children are involved with the show.

Martin’s daughter, Chloe (14) plays the fox, and son Alex (17) is one of the puppeteers, Aslan.  It is a friendly society for them to be a part of outside of their school and studies.
