Harlow Council gritting teams out and about in the town
News / Thu 8th Dec 2022 at 10:55am
TEAMS from HTS have been out gritting priority pavement and public areas across Harlow and will continue to be out during this cold spell.
The main roads in Harlow are gritted by Essex Highways.
Like Essex Highways they can’t grit everywhere so they prioritise what areas they do grit. The priority areas for gritting include:
Town Centre including the Bus Station
Doctors surgeries and health centres
Supported housing complexes
Leah Manning Centre
Access roads to Parndon Wood Crematorium
Neighbourhood shopping centres and hatches
Pets’ Corner
Latton Bush Centre
Ambulance station
Fire Station
HTS staff deserve a Xmas bonus for working in these sub-zero temperatures.
They don't deserve any bonus at all for wasting their time performing an utterly pointless task. There hasn't been a single flake of snow in this cold snap, nor is there forecast to be up to Christmas Day. They would be better tasked with clearing the cycle track network of fallen dead leaves, which pose more of a hazard to the public.
No gritting along the B181 from Harlow through Roydon to Waters Lane . We pay the same amount in council tax as townies so should get a similar level of services from the council, but we do not in any of the local villages .
Iain lindsay what was that you were saying?
