YOUNG engineers used their imaginations to tackle out of this world challenges.
Year 9 and 10 students from Burnt Mill Academy, in Harlow, took part in Lego engineering events.
Students in Year 9 built and programmed a remote vehicle to collect space debris and follow a path to take it to the space dump during their space challenge.
In Year 10, students built, programmed and tested their own theme park ride, giving consideration to safety.
Alaric Cook, head of careers and computer science, said: “Students learned the value of perseverance and created some fantastic vehicles.
“They also learned tenacity, programming, maths, building and creativity to see how these are truly used in industry.”
