ON SUNDAY, Frontiers Ladies hosted Corringham Cosmos in the last 16 of the League Cup.

Both teams made a slow start to the game with a lack of clear cut chances either end and highlight of the first half would see Ash Simonelli hitting the bar from 35 yards.

Second half could only get better and it definitely did after a couple of half chance Frontiers would take the lead with a solo effort from Jamie Hunter winning the ball on the left holding the ball up well beating a defender headed in to the box and shot which sailed over the keeper into the top of the net.

It was Corringham who would score next after a couple of mis-placed passed the ball ended up at the feet of the Corringham striker how shot from 25 yard into the top corner to make it 1-1.

But it was Frontiers who would bounce back quickly with a ball being played over the top by Bee Taspinar and Tayla Handscome would watch it over her shoulder to volley it over the on rushing keeper to give Frontiers the lead for the second time in the game, then 2 minutes later the game was sealed with some good play out of the back to Loren Delamere on the right who played the ball in to Tayla who then played it to Jamie to finish and give her a brace and Frontiers 3rd.

Final score 3-1

Great response in the second half and that makes it 4 wins in 5 for the ladies. Todays players of the match were Jamie-Lee Hunter and Ruth Appolos
