Harlow’s dynamic duo medal at European Duathlon Champs

HARLOW Running and Tri Club triathletes Pas Blackwell and Terri Wiley competed in the European Duathlon Championships in Venice at the weekend. This consisted of a 10k run, 40k bike ride and 5k run. Pas was victorious in 1st place to win the Gold Medal in the Men’s Vet 40 category in a time of 2 hours exactly. Terri finished in 3rd place in the Female Vet 35 category to win the Bronze Medal in a time of 2hrs 25min 38sec.
Meanwhile, the multi-terrain Twin Lakes 20 Mile race at Milton Keynes, laps two lakes, follows the River Ouzel and the Grand Union Canal. Martin Westley finished in 11th place out of 470 finishers in an excellent 2hrs 09min 06sec, Martyn Coulter was 38th in a PB time of 2.23.01 and Liz Roberts 425th in 4.02.30.
At the same location in the 10 Mile race Louise Cootes finished in 56th place out of 293 finishers in 1.27.09.
At the Hadleigh 10k Michael Robey finished in 174th place out of 299 finishers in 1.11.09 and Anna Robey was 175th in the same time.
Laura Prime completed the Huntingdon Challenge at Hinchingbrooke Country Park Lake, a very wet and muddy trial race. Laura completed 12 5.3k laps for a total of 21 miles in 3.45.55.
There was a parkrun PB at Harlow parkrun for Mark Unwin, finishing in 37th place out of 210 finishers in 24.55.
