Carmageddon in Harlow as M11 junction shut all weekend

THERE was traffic chaos on a large number of roads in Harlow today (Saturday) due to part of the M11 being closed and it is expected to last all weekend.

To be fair to these people that plan these road closers on a bank holiday weekend they do get paid the big bucks. MUPPETS not got a clue. Only thinking of them selves and not others.

We were due to travel on the 3-10pm 59 bus from Chelmsford to Harlow yesterday 28th. We saw it leave the No9 stop at 3pm.Never happened to us before.We decided to get the 10X to Stansted at 3-35pm save hanging around until 4-10pm. Big mistake as after arriving into the coach terminal around 4-25pm we didn’t get a Harlow bus until 5-45pm when two 508’s arrived together. Was it due to the road works maybe causing congestion on surrounding roads we’ll never know.Back to Old Harlow and indoors at 6-45pm! What an end to a lovely time in Maldon.

Clearly when these works were planned the planner did not look at their calendar to see if it coincided with a bank holiday indeed two weekends with bank holidays would suggest that there will be a considerable amount of traffic utilising Stansted airport. It begs the question as to how many people missed flights and missed their holidays due to the idiot planner? Highways agency need to be accountable for their irresponsible actions.
