ON FRIDAY, Harlow MP Robert Halfon was part of a roundtable discussion with foster carers, fostered children and council officers in order to find out more about their challenges.
The visit came in the middle of National Fostering Fortnight and enabled Mr Halfon to gather information and then pass it on to the Minister for Children, Claire Coutinho.
He was especially keen to hear from Bebe Jackson. Bebe is now an international para-athlete and just like her running, she is not backward at moving forward and so gave Mr Halfon plenty to think about.
The MP was also pleased to hear that the BMAT STEM Academy student is thinking of an apprenticeship when she leaves school.
So our interview focusses on fostering but also looks at the opportunities for apprenticeships.
Finally, as we were discussing young people and ambition, we asked him if he thought 22 was too young an age to run a council.
