Harlow Cricket Club: Amir passes 2,000 league runs

MANY congratulations to Second XI captain, Amir Farooq, who passed 2,000 league runs last Saturday.
Amir joined the club in 2014 and was a main stay of the Dave Whellams side that dominated Third XI Premier Division for so long. The bustling all-rounder keeps getting better with age and his strong performances led to Second XI selection and has become skipper of that side for 2023.
Arguably a bowling all-rounder with a huge wicket haul for the club Amir nevertheless often scores quick lower mid order runs with his aggressive style. In 130 appearances Amir has batted 101 times scoring 2,003 runs at an average of 23.56 – very decent for someone who bats around number 8. With seven half centuries to his name Amir’s highlight innings was his sole hundred in 2019 against Frenford when batting at seven he hammered 121 to win the fixture.
What a good cricketer and a lovely man too.
