KATHERINES Primary Academy recently took part in the National Gallery’s annual ‘Take One Picture’ programme, a creative scheme for primary schools across the UK.

Launched in 1995, the programme aims to inspire a lifelong love of art and learning.

This year, each class at Katherines examined Henry Rousseau’s ‘Surprised!’, one of the jungle paintings the artist is chiefly known for.

Each class came up with the idea for their own original artworks based on the oil painting.

The students completed work is exceptionally creative and the process was undoubtedly fulfilling!
