Holy Cross pupils win top award in memory of late headteacher

THREE Holy Cross pupils have won an award in memory of the late headteacher Sue McGuiggan.

Lilly (Year 6), Julia (Year 4) and Roman (Year 2) were nominated for the Gospel Values Award by the staff at the Tracyes Road school.

The award is given to the pupils at the Catholic school who display the following Gospel Values.

Gospel Values

  • Humility – seeing life as a gift.
  • Compassion – having empathy.
  • Kindness – gentleness.
  • Justice – working for a fairer world.
  • Forgiveness – reconciling with self and others.
  • Integrity – do what you say.
  • Peace – committed to peace making and non-violence.
  • Courage – standing up for the truth.

Headteacher Alison Kerrell said: “I am very proud of our three pupils, Lilly, Julia and Roman, who have displayed values that Sue McGuiggan held so dear and that we are all determined to uphold”.
