KIDZANIA, the indoor role-play mini-city designed just for kids is calling on local performance groups to showcase their talents at the KidZania Karnival this summer. 

Set to inspire young hearts and minds this summer, KidZania London invites children’s performance groups into its unique 75,000 sq ft world where “kids rule” to perform at its mini National Theatre, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and around our city streets. On selected days throughout the summer holidays, kids can perform for all of our visitors free of charge before enjoying all that KidZania has to offer. 

During Karnival, this summer’s festival theme, children will get the chance to express themselves and a wide range of cultures and traditions in the city-wide celebrations and parades each day. 

Inside the mini-city, which is the same size as London’s Leicester Square, kids can feel a true sense of freedom and empowerment, taking on a range of real-life activities and roles that help bring the Karnival to life. There is something for every kid to enjoy, including dancing in our parades, taking to the stage in our mini theatre productions, trying out life as a Junior Fashion Designer sketching costumes and creating dazzling eye masks, or getting a taste for those “behind the scenes” roles that are so important including working as a courier, in the hospital or fire department of KidZania’s unique city.  

KidZania’s COO Patricia Rayneau comments: ‘This summer, we’ll be inviting local performance groups to showcase their talents and vibrant spirit of carnivals across the world. We want our indoor city to provide the platform for young talent to showcase music, theatre and performance from a wide range of cultural traditions. 

‘KidZania’s summer Karnival season has been carefully crafted to enable children to take part in real-life adventures and give them a confidence boost and real sense of empowerment ahead of the new school year. Through immersive role play and problem solving, we believe children will get the chance to have fun, expand their imaginations and gain valuable skills to build a better future.‘

WHAT’S ON AT THE KIDZANIA KARNIVAL THIS SUMMER: 

BECOME A PARADE PERFORMER 

Children can showcase their dance skills in the Acting Academy and perform at the vibrant Karnival parade. Get ready to move to the beat! If dancing isn’t their thing, they can head to the Karaoke Club to sing their hearts out to some Karnival tunes. 

GET THEATRICAL AT AN ACTING WORKSHOP

Karnival is all about theatre. During summer, KidZania London will be hosting a Wizard of Oz acting workshop where guests will perform to a live audience at KidZania’s National Theatre. Children will learn how to project their voices, perform a scene and hone their stage presence. 

GET KARNIVAL- READY AT THE FACE PAINTING STUDIO

Children can express themselves with eye-catching Karnival face paint designs in the Facepaint Studio (extra charge applies). 

LET THEIR INNER ARTIST SHINE AT THE ARTZ STUDIO

Get mixing paints and help KidZania dazzle with Karnival colour by painting vibrant masterpieces in the ArtZ Studio.

THE WHOLE FAMILY CAN JOIN A KARNIVAL TRAIL 

Learn about Carnivals from around the world by solving clues hidden throughout the KidZania city. 

BECOME A MINI COSTUME DESIGNER IN THE FASHION STUDIO

Children will get the chance to design eye-catching festival wear for Karnival season that really helps different personalities shine through.

FIND THE LATEST KARNIVAL STORY FOR THE METRO NEWSROOM

Become a journalist for the Metro Newsroom and find a scoop during Karnival at KidZania city, before heading back to file your report for the front page of the newspaper and online news report. 

PRESENT THE NEWS

Children can head to the TV studio instead to share all the goings-on from Karnival by presenting the news and weather using autocue in a real recording studio. 

BECOME A KARNIVAL MUSICIAN 

No Karnival is complete without music. Children can head to Roland Music Studio to drum to the Karnival beat and bash it out on their drum kits. There are also a number of musical performances planned for the KidZania Theatre reflecting a wide range of cultures and traditions.
