ARMY veteran and MP for Plymouth Johnny Mercer has thanked the leader of Harlow Council for their efforts in being able to move Afghan refugees from the Harlow Hotel to permanent housing.
YH understands that the refugees, many of whom worked in Afghanistan for the UK government have moved to private accomodation.
The letter from the leader of the Harlow Council to the Rt Hon Johnny Mercer is below.
Nice to see a positive story about refugees for a change from our Conservative politicians.
David Forman, I have heard nobody opposing support for Afghan families that provided vital support to British forces.
Isn't this MP the same one that said going to a foodbank was a personal choice, not a necessary choice particularly in respect of our service personnel? Apparently they are so well paid they do not have too. The standard of our political class today can't sink any lower, can it?
