Dispersal order in place following incidents involving fireworks
News / Tue 31st Oct 2023 at 10:42pm
A DISPERSAL order is in place across all of Harlow and the Epping Forest district following incidents of anti-social behaviour involving fireworks.
The dispersal order was put in place at 9.45pm this evening, Tuesday 31 October, and will remain in place until 7am, Thursday 1 November.
The order is a preventative measure to allow officers to prevent further incidents of anti-social behaviour in the areas overnight.
Inspector Danny Warner said: “These are necessary to further prevent members of the public being harassed, alarmed or distressed by the behaviour of a small minority on Halloween.”
These fireworks in Epping Forest go on for weeks before and after Bonfire night, is it not time to ban fireworks from Epping Forest for good?
Christine hopes, why ban fireworks because of a minority? Unfortunately you will always get idiots who flout the law, if it's not fireworks it'll be something else, children and myself always look forward to this celebration every year.
It should be public displays only for one night only not idiot's lighting them for weeks .
Reduce the Fireworks Sale period to 2 days prior to Bonfire Night, raise the purchase age limit to 30 years old.....problem will be greatly reduced.
I feel bad for animals especially dogs ie my dog goes frantic and it's not just on one occasion go on for weeks it's a joke
There's a guy near me let's them off up to and beyond 11pm for weeks before and after the 5th. The law refuses to do anything about him, just like they refuse to stop electric scooters in shopping areas and on roads pavements etc. Or the kids with motorbikes driving around without a licence or insurance, but don't expect the police to do anything, because they've given up.
And I thought the 1st of November was a Wednesday, not a Thursday. Poor reporting.
Only have fireworks for the 5th November and to see the new year in. STOP selling to these idiotic youngsters. No wonder it's getting worse these youngsters do what they want now and know they get away with it. I had to call out a fire brigade last year, due to these sort of idiots letting fireworks of attached to an old tree, they went off and tree caught alight. 1 of My sons dog is petrified of fireworks and his tried everything to try and block the sounds of fireworks out for her.
