A FUNDRAISING campaign has been launched for a care worker who was seriously injured in a road traffic collision in Harlow.

Here is the message on the GoFundMe website

“My name is Leon Nyariri (Tye Green Lodge Care Home Manager). I am raising money for Justina Addai, a Night Care Worker at our care home.

On September 24th, 2023, Justina was run over twice by a motor bike on Southern Way around 9pm whilst walking to work.

“The biker sped off, living Justina lying on the pavement with multiple fractures to both femurs.

“Justina remains in hospital to this date and will not be able to return to work for at least six months.

“We are appealing for donations for Justina and her three-year-old daughter to help her during this difficult times.

“Your kindness will be greatly appreciated.

Working everyday as a careworker is a tough job and takes a special kind of person, she will be sorely missed until she's made a full recovery, let's hope this callous individual gets caught and sentence is served.

What have the police done about this? It hasn't had any media attention whatsoever! There is no coverage on this story anywhere, no appeals for information or dash-cam footage. What investigation has taken place? NONE!! This is disgusting! Is this the lack of response a person of colour can generally expect these days!?

We all wish this young woman a quick recovery, but please don't make this a racist issue, the time of the accident was 9pm not everyone has cameras on board. Harlow Police will have been onto this very serious incident very quickly, and I'm sure will get a conviction. Racism is not to be tolerated anywhere in this country, and the comment that was made was whole inappropriate.
