SFG College set to re-open on Tuesday

THE CHIEF executive of BMAT, the organisation that oversees the running of Sir Frederick Gibberd College (SFG) has announced that the beleaguered school will re-open tomorrow.
Helena Mills said:
“I am delighted to confirm that, following a comprehensive review this morning conducted by the Department for Education and BMAT leadership team, face-to-face education will resume at SFG School tomorrow morning. As we laid out last week, the teaching arrangements for year 7 at Mark Hall Academy will continue as they are now.
Pupils will be asked to arrive at the school site in time for line up at 8:45 am as usual. Pupils should wear suitable footwear for wet weather, such as their black PE trainers.
These upgrades to the facilities onsite will mean we are ready to deliver face-to-face education onsite into the winter months. I know it has been frustrating, but I am confident this period of online learning was the right thing to do.
I would like to thank you all and the teaching staff at SFG, as well as highlight the tireless work undertaken by BMAT and DFE staff to ensure we are able to safely deliver in person teaching.
We will continue to monitor closely the facilities onsite and rest assured that the welfare of students and our teaching staff remains our priority. As ever, please can I ask that if you have any questions at all, email [email protected].
I hope to be able to update you separately soon with more details about the parent meeting with the DFE and Robert Halfon. The hour-long meeting will be on Thursday 30th November at 7pm, and we will be able to confirm the venue and booking arrangements soon.
“We are looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow”.
