Consultation closes on booking process at Harlow’s tip
News / Tue 21st Nov 2023 at 08:09am
MONDAY, marked the end of the consultation on whether to keep the booking process at Essex County Council recycling centres permanently.
More than 18,000 people completed the consultation survey to have their say on proposals and to provide feedback and suggestions.
A summary report of the consultation feedback will be published alongside a final evaluation as part of any future decision regarding recycling centre bookings. Responses are being independently reviewed.
The consultation feedback will be used alongside other supporting evidence to inform a future decision on whether to keep a booking process for recycling centres in Essex.
Councillor Peter Schwier, Essex County Council’s Cabinet Member for Climate, Environment, Waste Reduction and Recycling said: “Thank you to everyone who took part in the consultation. We received a huge amount of responses which highlights the valuable role of recycling centres in our waste and recycling services.”
Residents will continue to book a slot to visit the recycling centres until a decision is made early next year.

What a fiasco. What a waste of our...the taxpayers hard earned cash..£20 Million quid..(and some..i bet).sigh..to Support our Govts Construction donors.. Whats realy needed is a replacement for the world Famous "The Square" which we lost when it was sold off by Essex County Councillors for a...£20 grand gain (thanks Cllr Hardware et al..!) We have a brilliant Theatre, but with less than 500 seats..it can never attract big acts ..without large grants from the Arts Council, but that will only finance Opera/Ballet companies which although very noble will mainly attract high brow out of towners.. Whilst the rest of us would rather watch a Bernard Manning's Underpants
