Remember to recycle this Christmas and New Year period

News / Wed 27th Dec 2023 at 09:40am

RECYCLING as much as possible is a great way to save resources and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill. Wrapping paper, Christmas cards and most types of packaging can be recycled.

Extra recycling should be put out as normal in bags that are not black or purple alongside your full bin or box.

Top tips for recycling:

  • Use clear or white bags for your extra recycling.
  • Clean and dry your empty food packaging before placing into your recycle bin.
  • Give cans and plastic bottles a quick squish and flatten cardboard boxes to save room in your recycling.
  • Nappy, sanitary and pet waste should only be placed in your non-recycling black bin or purple bags.
