Met Office issues severe weather warning for Harlow

THE Met Office has issued a severe weather warning for the East of England this evening (Monday, 1 January) and through tomorrow.

Residents and motorists are warned to prepare for a spell of very windy weather, accompanied by heavy rain in places, is likely to cause some travel disruption.

What to Expect

  • Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely and damage to trees is possible
  • It’s likely that some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities will be affected by spray and/or large waves
  • Probably some bus and train services affected, with some journeys taking longer
  • Some short term loss of power and other services is possible
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges likely

Total rubbish. The met office website is showing that the warning is for the East of England, but it does not include Essex. Yes we will have some heavy rain and some windy conditions but nothing like your report is saying.
