Essex Police growing “increasingly concerned” for missing Passmores student

Update: Saiba Sultana, who was missing from Harlow, has now been found.

ESSEX Police say they are growing increasingly concerned for 16-year-old Saiba Sultana, who is missing from Harlow.

Saiba was last seen leaving her school, Passmores Academy, off Tracyes Road, Harlow, at 9.06am on Thursday 1 February.

She has dark hair – now dyed ginger – which was last worn up in a bun, is of medium build, and is around 5ft 3ins in height.

She was last seen wearing a school uniform with black ankle socks, black Nike Air Force One trainers and a black puffer jacket speckled with pink and blue.

They are also now publishing a CCTV image of Saiba in the clothes she was last seen wearing.

We believe Saiba is still in the county but has links to the London areas of Barking, Tooting and Southall, as well as previous links to the Manchester and Nottingham areas.

We are worried about her and need to find her to make sure she’s okay.

DCI Alan Blakesley said: “Our efforts to find Saiba and bring her home have been continuing around the clock since she was first reported as missing on Thursday.

“I need anyone who may have seen her in the Harlow area, particularly on the morning of Thursday 1 February, to get in touch with us.

“Any piece of information, no matter how small, could prove pivotal to finding Saiba.”

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call us immediately on 101, quoting incident 280 of 1 February.

Just spent 40mins on hold for 101 to say I have cctv footage of this person. The person I spoke to had no idea what I was talking about even though I gave an incident number. Essex police you are a disgrace.

The original appeal from Essex Police contained the description: 'dark hair, which was last worn up in a bun, is of medium build, and is around 5ft 3ins in height'. I'd suggest most people would immediately presume that she is a white girl, as there was no mention that she is of south Asian appearance. What is wrong with mentioning a person's skin colour in these circumstances? This is political correctness at an insane level.
