Water bills to rise above inflation in April

WATER companies are forecasting an above-inflation rise in average household bills in April, drawing criticism from campaigners reports the BBC.

The average annual water and sewerage bill is expected to rise by 6% in England and Wales, up £27 to £473, says suppliers’ trade body Water UK.

Consumers are being asked to pay more to fix the problems caused by privatised water companies that have ripped the tax payer off by giving away the capital value of the company to shareholders while failing to maintain and upgrade infrastructure.

On Thursday, The Guardian revealed that the Government, the regulator and the water companies met for the third time at an exclusive London Club to discuss how to quell public anger over bill rises and sewage spills - The whole lot are corrupt - We go to work to pay these bills and our money in going straight into the pockets of the Qataris and towards boosting foreign pension funds. This government is a disgrace. - We have swans in our rivers with turd tide marks - We haven't taken back control of anything.
