I'm just surprised that there aren't more accidents on that roundabout. The layout is very confusing.

The 'Hamburger' roundabout has a splendid design and I enjoy travelling across it whenever my journey takes me into that direction. However, I do agree: One needs to have worked out beforehand how to negotiate it. And guests to the town will not be familiar with the lay-out. It's easy to go wrong unless you get to know the roundabout. It takes some courage! Disobeying the traffic lights is a different matter.

It is not hard to follow a road and pay attention to road signs that say no right turn. The real problem is drivers that think speed limits and red lights do not apply to them. It is just dangerous and inconsiderate people using the roads.

I agree with Peter Kinsella. It is a stupid and confusing layout!

It is simply a roundabout with a traffic flow through the middle. The road signs leading up to it are quite clear.

as are the traffic lights

The roundabout is all clearly signposted and not a problem until you get the idiots that stick their toe down and race through a red light. It's the constant red light jumpers that are the problem.

Seems like the people with the problem need to hand back their licence and retake their test.

The only thing I find unusual is two sets of traffic lights just 20 metres apart , so 1 set turn green and the 2nd set go red.

Peter Kinsella - it’s a straight forward layout for any one with common sense-it’s a great design and anyone unable to stop at a red light or follow common sense should have their license taken away/that is if they had one!!!

I have lived overlooking this roundabout since its inception. The number of drivers that approach it from the West on Southern Way and insist on turning right through the middle to head South on the A414, is unbelievable! This action clearly contravenes a No Right Turn sign.. Very few bother to indicate,. When joining the roundabout travelling West from Southern Way, there are no lights, it must be treated as a ‘give way to traffic from your right’ roundabout. When vehicles to your right fail to indicate it causes problems.

One thing they could improve are the white lines on the junction, which have almost faded away and are impossible to see when it is wet. Travelling east from Southern Way the lights changed on me halfway across and I frankly had no idea where the stop lines were.

So many people jump the lights there, not the first time and unfortunately not the last, on a green light I always take a short pause because of the light jumpers.
