Could he look anymore like Boris with the ridiculous hand gestures? Is it a distraction tactic from his empty words? Waits about 33 seconds to start attacking people in the comments.. tragic.

Just trying to work this out - Have the Conservative retained control of Harlow with or without the suspended Potter Street candidate?

But according to YourHarlow.com recently, of the new 17 Tory cllrs was suspended by the Tories. . So is it really 16-16 on the new council with no overall control?? With one other person - not sure where he “belongs”!!!! A situation that needs sorting!

That’s great news – I’ll be booking my place in the queue for the opening of our new Town Centre Marks and Spencer Department Store, so that I get a Colin the Caterpillar Cup Cake – Will it be open before the summer? Feel sorry for the people losing their homes in Terminus House, but can’t wait for you to start knocking it down. Let’s get those bulldozers on site before Whitsun. Please get this done before anyone defects to UKIP or Renew or Respect or whatever it’s called! – No excuses Boris – let’s Build Back Better

An absolute great day for Harlow residents. Dan the man that can is going to make Harlow great again while Chris Vince goes off to sulk in a little corner. As said by others, Chris has no vision or passion for Harlow and has nothing to offer so the right man won!

I despair! Hardly triumphant losing five seats. And one seat won was by a Tory councillor suspended for making unpleasant anti-islamic comments. But I guess Desperate Dan Swords will be out in the Town Centre sitting in his bulldozer, hard hat on, and starting work on the Town Centre today just as he promised. And drawing up plans to demolish Terminus House just as he promised (with no plan as to where he'll house the people who are already living there). And I look forwad to shopping in M&S as soon as possible just as he promised.

Great work Dan! It's your passion and 'let's go on with the job' mentality which has helped drive the conservative party of Harlow into a new generation!

An absolute disaster. Dan Swords go for a walk around Harlow in the evenings and see what an absolute hellhole the town is. The pavements, roads and cyclepaths are no longer fit for purpose, the vehicle situation is so out of control now, that more and more people think it is acceptable to just park totaly on the pavements,it is everywhere and it is 100% not acceptable, they are parking on junctions, parking on green spaces and turning it all into mud pits, they are cracking up the kerbstones and pavements. Harlow has become so overpopulated, and it is nothing more thsn one huge car park. You are not fixing what is broken in this town. Keep building all these new homes is just making the situation even worse. Dan swords i really dont think you know anything that is going on inHarlow. You need to get in the real world.

Can we start a sweepstake on when the excuses begin on why he can't keep hispost election promises? Or, thinking positively, when work starts ?

So the electorate fell for the nonsense again. Dan Swords is the same make as his mentor Halfon: all photo-shoot, press release and video. How many of those pledges will become reality within a year? I suspect none. How many in two? Again none. And like Halfon it will be someone's else's fault!

Well done to Dan Swords and team. I can't wait to see the town regenerated. Let's remember that when Labour were in charge of the council their bids for Government money to regenerate the town were deemed "poor value for money".

Perhaps Dan Swords could reply to my email regarding house repairs now !

2024-05-03 21:52:27

Gary Roberts, I agree. Let's not forget Dan's promise of starting work the day after election as was all in place - so that should've been today. Looking forward to hearing excuse number one.. of many to come...

About time we had some young blood in the system. Maybe other parties should take note. The young are full of ideas and just need a bit of input from older generations to make wise decisions. Where as the older generation are limited by their wisdom in many cases. Whether Mr Swords ideas pan out well or not is irrelevant, it’s the fact that someone is willing to try something new that is important.

2024-05-04 09:17:04

Presumably the council will be announcing start dates soon for the regeneration projects?Has work already started as promised?

Dan Swords said it would start the day after they won - perhaps he’s waiting for a decision on suspended James Leppard winning a seat. They’ll probably be some excuse so they have the majority.

I heard someone scrapping a shovel along the concrete in Terminus Street on Friday morning, so work has started!

Can't wait for Marks and Spencer to open, do we have a date yet please, also Terminus House where will all the residents go, I think I know down by the station in them new builds the council has purchased. Don't think about the over 65 year old living in his car because the council say that he's not a priority case, 65 and not a priority case, thanks moan over 😊
