Letter to Editor: My thanks to the voters of Bush Fair

Elections / Sat 4th May 2024 at 10:54am

Dear Editor,

THANKS to everybody who voted in the Bush Fair ward. Special thanks to everybody who elected Jodi Dunne, Mark Ingall and me. Being re-elected feels absolutely wonderful!! Plenty of work ahead and we’re ready.

Those who campaigned … canvassed, leafleted, stuffed envelopes … made a real difference. We’re in your debt. Our Labour team was indefatigable.

Thanks, too, for the encouraging messages, the lovely emoji, the darling words. You spur us on and buoy us up.

The Count seemed never-ending, especially to the anxious candidate. The tellers were focussed and professional but we really appreciated the occasional lighter moments (when, around 4.30am, a teller realised yet another pile of ballot papers had unexpectedly arrived with him, for example).

It was a slick operation, expertly organised by experienced, charming staff.

My daughter was there, beside me. She kept me sane(ish), upright and fairly communicative. She’s a beautiful, clever star. She’s unique. I’m a very lucky human being.

Thanks for reading this.

Best wishes.

Kay Morrison

Can Jodi and I also please thank all those who took part in last Thursday's election. Local democracy matters and we are honoured to have been elected to serve, as a team of three Labour Councillors, for Bush Fair. Kay Morrison, Jodi Dunne and I are here to serve all the residents of Bush Fair. We are contactable via our Council email addresses, that will be available on the Council website very soon, and we aim to get back to any enquiries within a week. Many thanks Mark Ingall and Jodi Dunne

Dear Editor, I would like to thank all of the Bush Fair Residents who voted in the Bush Fair Ward election on 2 May 2024 and to extend very special thanks to those who voted for me, in respect of my unsuccessful attempt to be elected as the councillor for Bush Fair. I will continue to stand up for the residents, staff and traders of Bush Fair ward, and for the badly needed improvements to this ward and to the rest of Harlow, as I have done for over 40 years. I will continue with my ongoing inspections of Bush Fair ward's neighbourhoods and all of the neighbourhoods of Harlow, which I've been working on for the last 2-3 years. I would like to extend special thanks too, to all of those who worked so tirelessly, helping with the Conservatives' campaign and to the officers and staff who worked so very hard in the polling stations and at the count. I would also like to extend special thanks to Harlow's remarkable Council Leader, Dan Swords, for his inspirational leadership of the Conservative's' campaign and for his tireless work and dedication in the service of restoring and regenerating Harlow. I would further like to extend my thanks to Your Harlow's Editor, Michael Casey, for his tireless work in the service of local democracy, while, covering this and many other elections and council meetings, largely single handed. Most important of all, I would like to thank my dear daughter, Keira Morrison, who worked her heart out campaigning and leafleting for me and my dear son, Chris Clemmett, who has worked his socks off covering some of my job for me, while I've been out campaigning. Best wishes, Colleen Morrison
