Harlow Gymnasts triumph at Essex Champs

HARLOW Gymnastics triumphed again, this time at the Essex County levels competition in Colchester.

In the age 8 level 2 event, Valerie Drobo-Ampem won the gold medal and trophy for floor, while teammate Erin Vaughan won the gold medal and trophy for bars.

A trio of silver medals for Dulcie Kemp on vault, beam and floor in the level 5 age 10-11 event, with Sophia Hutchings accomplishing bronze medal on beam, 5th place rosette on floor and 6th place rosette on vault. Gracie Little captured the bronze medal on bars and 5th place rosette on vault, while Amalie Horsfall attained 4th place rosette on bars and 5th place rosette on beam. Peyton Poole received 4th place rosette for vault and 6th place rosette on bars, with teammate Poppy-Rose White narrowly missing on a podium position by 0.1 marks in level 5 age 10-11 event.

Further medal joy for Lucy Brough who secured the silver medal on beam, bronze medal on bars and 6th place rosette on vault in the level 5 age 14-15 event.

Shilah Wynter-Glace captured the silver medal on beam in the level 5 age 12-13 event. Narrowly behind, Eva Reeves earned the bronze medal on beam in addition to 5th place rosette on floor and 6th place rosette on bars. Milli Battelley achieved the bronze medal on bars as well as 5th place rosette for vault and 6th place rosette for floor. Teammates Molly Mather, Ava Kashket and Dulcey Pope were rewarded with 4th, 5th and 6th place rosettes respectively on vault, also in the level 5 age 12-13 event.

The remaining county levels in this competition series will take place next month, and the top three competitors on each apparatus in each level qualify to represent Essex at the East Region final.
