Melanoma skin cancer cases rising in the country

A CANCER charity is warning people to do more to protect themselves from the sun as the number of melanoma skin-cancer cases in the UK continues to rise reports the BBC.

Cancer Research UK predicts there will be a record 20,800 cases diagnosed this year – up from a yearly average of 19,300 between 2020 and 2022.

Its analysis shows rates rose by almost a third, external between 2009 and 2019 – from 21 to 28 cases per 100,000 people.

Quite agree. I was diagnosed not long ago. A mole on my back kept getting larger until i had it checked out. if you have a mole please get it checked. Better safe than sorry. There are four stages of depth and mine was the deepest no 4. Thankfully it was removed in time.

Interesting fact. Skin cancer is the most common secondary cancer as told to me by my oncologist
