ACL Essex supports unpaid carers during Carers Week
ACL Essex / Tue 9th Jun 2026 at 08:00am
ACL Essex is highlighting the support available to unpaid carers across Essex during Carers Week (8 to 14 June).
The adult learning provider is encouraging carers to discover courses that fit around their caring roles.
Many unpaid carers spend so much time supporting others that they put their own wellbeing and development on hold. ACL Essex offers a range of local, online and part-time courses to help carers take time for themselves.

Courses include wellbeing, mindfulness and confidence-building, as well as digital skills, English, maths and employability training.
Councillor Sam Journet, Cabinet Member for Education, SEND and Skills, said: “Unpaid carers make a huge contribution to communities across Essex. ACL Essex offers flexible learning that can fit around caring responsibilities. These courses can help them improve wellbeing, build confidence and develop skills for the future.”
Many courses are free or low cost for eligible learners. Flexible learning options help make courses more accessible.
Learning can also help carers meet new people, build confidence and feel more connected to their community.
