A MAN has been charged with a number of offences after police received a report of domestic abuse.
Clive Wallace, 54, of Milwards, Harlow, has been charged with possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply, criminal damage and assault.
He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates Court tomorrow, Saturday 16 April.
Essex Police issued a statement in their Facebook page.
They said: “Officers from Harlow Town Centre Team attended an address in Harlow after a report of domestic abuse between the suspect and his elderly parents.
The suspect was arrested, which gave his elderly parents a chance to talk about what had happened.
Despite being in his nineties, the father provided a statement which catalogued the (alleged) abuse at the hands of his son. His mother was not able to provide a statement due to advancing dementia.
While at the address, the attending officers have found drugs with an estimated street value of £7,500.
PC Emily Cross, of Harlow Town Centre Team said ‘The moving and honest statement from the elderly victim was critical in providing enough evidence to secure the charge.
PC Stephens stated ‘The seizure of the drugs is an additional bonus taking more class A off the streets of Essex’
