Statement from Essex Police

We have arrested five people following an assault in Harlow.

Our officers were called to Wooding Grove at 11.55pm yesterday, Monday 11 April.

A man was found with stab wounds to his leg.

He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

We have arrested five people from Harlow on suspicion of GBH.

They are a 40-year-old woman, a 26-year-old man, a 23-year-old woman and two 21-year-old men.

They all remain in custody at this time.

At this stage, we believe all the people involved are known to each other and there is no wider risk to the community.

Our enquiries are ongoing, and we need anyone who saw anything to contact us.

A NUMBER of streets in Harlow have been cordoned off by the police.

Parts of Canons Brook off Fourth Avenue and Wooding Grove have been sealed off with police tape.

YH attended at 0930 hrs and saw the following.

Plain clothes officers are conducting door to door inquiries.

A number of forensic officers are at the scene.

A number of uniformed officers are protecting the scene.
